  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 4 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar in a bowl.
  3. Press the mixture into a 9-inch pie dish and bake for 10 minutes. Cool.
  4. Whisk milk, sugar, cornstarch, egg yolks, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat.
  5. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly, about 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate, butter, and vanilla.
  7. Pour the filling into the crust and chill for 4 hours.
  8. Whip heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  9. Spread whipped cream over the pie before serving.
